Walls of Stone

Writer's picture: Rob RaineyRob Rainey

Where will you be when the Wall of Stone comes crumbling down?

Will you be a beacon for freedom, or a mere shadow on the ground?

You question the motives and yell, “it’s a sin!;”

Forcing brothers and sisters into closets, “God for the win!”

Where will you be when the Wall of Stone comes crumbling down?

Will you raise up your voice, or fall silent, and abide without sound?

Humans living under the thumb oppression;

The tides of change flow over the suppression.

Where will you be when the Wall of Stone comes crumbling down?

Will you offer your hand and say, “let us walk together,”

or step on by for a jewel in your crown?

And when your days finally end, and your maker inquires,

“What did you do for the least of these?”

Will you be with those who rose up from their knees

or will you beg for forgiveness, because you CHOSE not to see?
